Tungliu timetable from November 2026. Ordinary days are shown by default; on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays the board adds the flexible rest-day extras.
Flexible extras and long weekends Tungliu marks 08:00 and 14:00 from Donggang and 13:00 and 17:00 from the island as flexible rest-day extras, and says it adds boats on rest days and long weekends. Its FAQ adds that extra boats depend on the crowd on the day and may not keep the printed time, and that a full boat can leave early.
Tungliu sailing from Yanpu The same timetable lists 07:30 from Yanpu to Xiaoliuqiu and 16:30 from Xiaoliuqiu via Yanpu to Donggang, printed under the rest-day and long-weekend line. Yanpu is a different pier, so these two are not on this board. Yanpu phone: 08-8325113.
Other ferry companies Pingtung County Government lists Taifu and BlueWhite as other companies to Xiaoliuqiu, plus Dafu's route from Yanpu to Dafu harbour. A Tungliu ticket is only valid on Tungliu boats; check each company for its own times, fares and pier.
Sea conditions and cancellations Tungliu decides for itself whether to sail according to sea conditions, so it may not stop or restart at the same time as other companies. Donggang station 08-8325806, Liuqiu station 08-8612382.

Fares from Tungliu's fare page. A ticket is valid on any Tungliu sailing on the day of travel, not on other companies' boats, and seats are not assigned: you collect the ticket and queue. Full fare is for anyone 12 or over. The fare page limits the half-fare return to children from 3 to under 12; Tungliu's FAQ also offers half fare to people aged 65 or over and to people with a disability plus one companion, with ID shown at the counter. The single half fare is not shown here because the fare page labels it inconsistently. Under-3 insurance tickets are bought at the counter on the day with the child's health card or household register. Scooter fees are paid in cash at the pier. Large camping carts, hard-shell diving cases and underwater scooters cost NT$50 each on top. All fares in New Taiwan dollars (TWD).
This page covers the Tungliu Line Joint Ferry Services, a pool of six boats that sail between Donggang on the Pingtung coast and Xiaoliuqiu on one timetable and one ticket. You board at Donggang's No. 1 pier on Chaolong Road and land at Baisha Harbour on the island. Tungliu says its boats use only Baisha, not the island's Dafu harbour. The crossing takes about 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the sea. The boats carry no cars.
Tungliu's timetable from November 2026 has eight departures each way on an ordinary weekday: Donggang from 07:00 to 16:30, and the island from 07:40 to 17:15. Four more are printed as flexible rest-day extras, 08:00 and 14:00 from Donggang and 13:00 and 17:00 from Xiaoliuqiu, and this board adds them on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays. On long weekends Tungliu adds further boats when the queues build, and those do not always keep a printed time.
An adult ticket (12 and over) costs NT$250 one way or NT$450 return, although a single on the Shiang Shin is NT$300. Children from 3 to under 12 pay NT$225 return. Under-3s need an insurance ticket, NT$30 single or NT$60 return, bought at the counter on the day. Tickets work on any Tungliu boat on the day of travel but not on other companies' boats. Seats are not assigned, so after collecting your ticket you queue and board in order.
Taiwan's real-name rule for passenger boats means staff check identity when you buy and when you board. Tungliu accepts any document that proves who you are and names a passport among them, while noting that a passport is not required as such for this domestic trip. If the ID does not match the booking, boarding can be refused. The Donggang counter opens for ticket collection at 06:30, and Tungliu suggests arriving 30 minutes before you want to sail.
Coming from Kaohsiung International Airport, Tungliu recommends shuttle bus 9117 to its Donggang station; from the High Speed Rail at Zuoying, bus 9127-D runs to the Tungliu pier stop. Taifu and BlueWhite also sail from Donggang, and Dafu runs a separate route from Yanpu to Dafu harbour, each with its own tickets and times. Tungliu decides each day whether to sail according to sea conditions; call Donggang station on 08-8325806 if the weather looks rough.
- Get to the pier in good time; some routes need a ticket bought in advance or stop check-in before departure.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — wind, swell, typhoons and the northeast monsoon can cancel or change sailings.
- How you pay differs by route; some accept transport cards, and concession fares can require proof of eligibility.
