How ferries work in Taiwan
Taiwan has no national ferry timetable. Each route is published by the shipping company or local government that runs it, together with its fares and suspension notices.
Most offshore island routes are run by private shipping companies, while some harbour ferries are run by a city government's shipping company. Each publishes its information in its own way; this site brings the timetable, fares and piers of each route into one page, with a link to the source.
Fares are structured differently on each route: some sell single and return tickets separately, some distinguish full, half-price and concession fares, and concessions can require proof of eligibility. Each page lists the fares as the operator publishes them.
Timetables change with the season, and some offshore island routes run fewer sailings in winter or sail only on certain days. Where the next timetable is already published, the page switches to it on its first day; where it is not, the page says so. All times are Taiwan time in 24-hour format.
Wind, swell, typhoons and the northeast monsoon can suspend or change sailings. The operator publishes suspension notices, and they appear here as a dated note when they were known at the time of checking.
