Green Lake shuttle timetable (undated). Only departures up to mid-afternoon are shown as a guide: from November to March the 5 pm sailing is cancelled and the other late boats are not detailed. · Representative sailings only — check the operator for today's full timetable
Last boats Green Lake warns that each pier has its own last boat and that passengers who miss it must make their own way. Shuishe 17:00 and Ita Thao 16:40 are the last boats round the whole loop, with only 10 minutes at each stop.
Other boat companies Other companies also run boats on the lake, each setting its own fares. This page covers Green Lake only; check which company your ticket is for and where it boards.

The fare is Green Lake's adult ticket for the full loop, from its online shop. Concession, child and single-leg tickets are also sold, with ID required; their prices are not shown here. The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area says operators now set their own boat fares and advises buying only from designated counters. Unused tickets can be refunded where they were bought, minus a 10% fee; free tickets from hotels, guesthouses or travel fairs cannot be refunded. All fares in New Taiwan dollars (TWD).
Boats on Sun Moon Lake run in a loop rather than back and forth between two piers. This page follows Green Lake (綠湖遊艇, Green Lake Recreation Co.), whose shuttle boats circle anticlockwise according to its route map: Shuishe Pier, then Xuanguang Temple Pier, then Ita Thao Pier and back to Shuishe. You can start at any of the three. At every pier Green Lake uses float No. 4, the one furthest to the left as you face the water, signed for its shuttle boats, and its staff wear green vests.
Green Lake's timetable shows boats about every 30 minutes, starting at 09:00 from Shuishe and 08:40 from Ita Thao, with Xuanguang Temple from 09:20. If you stay on board, a full loop takes about 45 minutes; getting off at two stops for half an hour each makes it about two hours. The late-afternoon boats come with conditions. Shuishe 17:00 and Ita Thao 16:40 are the last boats that complete the loop, and they stop for only 10 minutes at each pier. The 17:20 from Xuanguang goes back only to Shuishe and Ita Thao, and the 17:10 and 17:40 from Ita Thao only to Shuishe. Green Lake states plainly that if you miss the last boat, getting back is up to you.
From November to March, Green Lake says it follows the authorities' policy and cancels the 5 pm sailing, but it does not explain how the other late boats change. For that reason this page lists departures up to mid-afternoon only, as a guide. Check with Green Lake by phone (+886 985 300 902) or LINE before counting on a late boat in winter.
Green Lake's online shop lists the adult full-loop ticket at NT$300. Concession, child and single-leg tickets are sold too, with ID required. The Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area says boat fares are now set by each operator and advises buying only from designated counters. Unused tickets can be refunded where you bought them, less 10%; free tickets handed out by hotels or travel fairs are not refundable. Other companies also run boats on the lake, so make sure your ticket is for the boat and float you intend to use.
- Get to the pier in good time; some routes need a ticket bought in advance or stop check-in before departure.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — wind, swell, typhoons and the northeast monsoon can cancel or change sailings.
- How you pay differs by route; some accept transport cards, and concession fares can require proof of eligibility.
